With Halloween just around the corner, now is the time to plan your festive dance combos and activities for class! I created this playlist to use during the entire month of October in my jazz, hip hop, tap, acro, and even ballet classes! The kids really enjoy the change in music, and the themes can make class a lot more exciting!
A few ideas for Halloween-themed activities to incorporate in your dance classes:
- “Costumes from the Dead” – Rewear an old dance costume to class
- Make a “runway” and have the students line up and walk down the middle + strike a pose. Helps build confidence!
- Halloween Freeze Dance Song – Always a hit with my younger students!
- Musical dots with Halloween music – Just like musical chairs, but with dots! My students of all ages love this game.
Note: I would double check with your studio directors to make sure they are okay with using Halloween-themed music for class! Some cultures do not celebrate this holiday, so you want to be mindful of that.
