200+ Songs for Beginner Jazz Dance Class & Recital (Ages 4-8 Years old)

Here is the playlist I use when teaching jazz (or tap) to beginners ages 4 to 8 years old. Please note that all of these songs use clean language.

This playlist includes a combination of popular songs the kids will know, energetic instrumentals, classic jazz dance hits, and everything in-between. These songs can be used for warming up, combinations, recital dances, and across-the-floor exercises.

Here are some other great musicians for clean, kid friendly music for jazz and tap dance classes:

  • Bruno Mars
  • Cheetah Girls
  • Daphne Willis
  • Demi Lovato
  • Dua Lipa
  • Katy Perry
  • Kylie Minogue
  • Kelly Clarkson
  • Lady Gaga
  • Miley Cyrus (can’t forget about Hannah Montana)
  • Sabrina Carptener (her Disney music!)
  • Sia
  • Selena Gomez
  • Older music! I love introducing my kids to some classics, such as:
    • The Supremes
    • Whitney Houston
    • Diana Ross
    • CHIC
    • ABBA
